It only takes a little...

That's what amazes me. It takes such a small amount to help a child. $38. Thirty-eight dollars and a child is fed and educated. We found our $38 in our cable bill. The only thing we ever watched on cable were The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and Food Network. We hardly had time to watch those. So we decided to scrap cable. We also decided that the extra money could go a lot further for a child in Uganda than it could in our bank account.

I know not everyone has the extra money, but if you do, please consider sponsoring my Christmas child. You can find more information here.

What I want for Christmas...

Not long after Caedmon was born, Collin and I felt led to sponsor a child through Compassion International. We felt so blessed with our sweet little boy and the resources God has given us to care for him. As I read one of the Compassion bloggers writings about Uganda, it broke my heart to think of the children around the world who are hungry and in need. We now sponsor an eight year old boy from Uganda named Musa. It has been such blessing watching him grow that I jumped at the chance to help another child through Compassion with their "What I Want for Christmas" program. I have been assigned a child to pray for during the month of December. I am also searching for a sponsor during this time of prayer.

The child I am praying for is a seven year old girl named Janeth James from Tanzania. If you are interested in sponsoring Janeth, please let me know. I will send you a picture and more information on her. If you are not able to be a sponsor, please join me in praying that God will send a sponsor to Janeth soon.
